BecSpec Because specs matter.
Free EPREL model lookup · EU F-gas checker

Search an EPREL air-conditioner or heat-pump model, then check the F-gas rule

BecSpec includes a free lookup over more than 30,000 conservatively mapped split air-to-air models from the European Commission EPREL Public API. Search by model number, indoor or outdoor unit, or supplier to pull in refrigerant, GWP and design capacity, then check the selected Regulation (EU) 2024/573 rule that applies to the equipment and date.

If you do not have an EPREL model, you can still enter the HVAC/R facts manually. BecSpec keeps model identity, regulatory thresholds and site-specific evidence separate rather than turning an EPREL match into a blanket compliance claim.

What this checker covers: selected HVAC/R rules in Annex IV, Article 11(1), Article 13 and selected Commission Article 11(5) derogations. A legal result here is not a recommendation to use a refrigerant or carry out a retrofit.

EPREL air-conditioner and heat-pump model lookup

Use the model lookup when you have an EPREL-listed split air-conditioner or heat pump. Search by model number, indoor or outdoor unit, or supplier. BecSpec uses the matched record to prefill refrigerant, GWP and design capacity before the regulatory check.

The EPREL lookup does not assume refrigerant charge, single-split status, the action date or a site-specific safety exception. Other HVAC/R equipment can still be checked manually below.

1. Decision

2. Equipment facts

Leave anything you genuinely do not know blank. BecSpec will show which missing fact stops it giving a firm result rather than guessing for you.

3. Existing-stock / installation evidence

3. Servicing facts

4. Narrow Commission derogations

Use this only if the equipment genuinely fits one of these tightly defined applications. The number requested is the quantity named in that derogation.

What the result means

Permitted under selected rule means the facts you entered do not trigger the rule BecSpec checked, or you have supplied the evidence needed for an exception. It does not mean the equipment is generally EU compliant.

Conditional exception means an exception may apply but you still need evidence that BecSpec cannot safely assume, especially for site-specific safety requirements.

Regulatory eligibility is not refrigerant compatibility

A refrigerant falling below a GWP threshold is not necessarily suitable for the equipment. BecSpec does not treat regulatory eligibility as a drop-in recommendation, retrofit approval or manufacturer endorsement.

Rule version

Based on the current rule set shown above. Time-limited Commission derogations are kept with their own dates so an older decision is not quietly changed when a derogation expires.
